About Court Community Service
Court Community Service (CCS) is a Cleveland-based nonprofit agency founded in 1985 to provide meaningful community service placements for individuals referred by the courts. CCS partners with hundreds of nonprofit and governmental agencies to place and monitor participants, ensuring compliance and accountability to the referring courts.
In addition to direct placements, CCS operates supervised community service work crew programs that assist charitable and governmental organizations throughout Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
Mission: To design and manage an efficient system of quality alternative sentencing options responsive to the needs of the courts and the community.
Position Overview
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of Court Community Service and is responsible for the overall management, strategic direction, and operational excellence of the organization. Working in collaboration with the Board of Trustees, the Executive Director ensures that CCS continues to deliver effective, innovative, and community-focused programs aligned with its mission. The starting salary will be commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the applicant within a range of $75,000 to $100,000.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of all CCS programs, services, and staff.
- Develop and manage the organization’s annual budget and financial operations to ensure fiscal sustainability.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with courts, government agencies, nonprofits, and community organizations.
- Lead program development, policy formulation, and long-term planning initiatives.
- Oversee human resources, including staff development, recruitment, and performance management.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for CCS in the community and among stakeholders.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with the Board of Trustees.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Candidate Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven leadership and management experience in a nonprofit, government, or justice-related organization.
- A strong commitment to social justice and community engagement.
- Excellent organizational, financial, and human resource management skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Experience working collaboratively with courts, governmental bodies, and community partners.
- Ability to inspire staff, volunteers, and community members toward a shared mission.
- Must have exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, social work, nonprofit management, criminal justice, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5–10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience.
