Description

We currently have an opening for a Full Time Assistant Public Defender. This attorney will carry a reasonable mixed caseload of clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges and may have the opportunity to be involved in various other representation, including Raise the Age clients in Youth Part, Drug Treatment Court, parole violations, appeals and mitigation work. You will be supported by ample Investigative and Social Work staff as well as in-house training.

Additional compensation for required shared participation in our Centralized Arraignment Program.

Demonstrated dedication to practicing indigent defense in a team setting required.

Requirements

Residency in Wayne County NY NOT REQUIRED, but preferred for this position. However, applicants must be admitted to practice in NYS.
